Davis Mills Improving In Training Camp

Davis Mills

The Houston Texans will enter the 2022 season much different than they did last year, without drama. Second year quarterback Davis Mills is a big reason for that after a fairly impressive rookie campaign. Houston didn’t expect much from Mills in year one, but he stepped in and threw for 2,664 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in only 11 games as a starter.

Like most young quarterbacks, Mills also improved with experience, leading the Texans to victory in three of the last five games in what amounted to be only a four win season for the team. Naturally, this season will be about whether he can prove deserving of a spot in the future, especially with the Texans projected once again to be a bottom dweller in the league.

But Mills is ready to take full advantage of the opportunity, reporting he has been using “throw charts” to “focus on the areas he needed work on” to “play faster.”

Don’t tell him the team is in a great spot to win the college quarterback jackpot. Regardless, for fantasy and wagering purposes, we don’t envision the Texans being a team that will take much action on a week-to-week basis. Although, if Mills can show significant strides forward, then maybe he becomes roster worthy in fantasy leagues.
