Dylan Carlson Won’t Play In Game 1

Dylan Carlson

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson will sit out of the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Carlson just returned from the injured list last Friday, and the Cardinals are easing him back into action. The 23-year-old is off to a good start since returning from the IL, though, and his slash line is up to .255/.300/.389 after an ice-cold start to the season. He has gone deep three times, driven in 14, scored 17 runs and stolen a base in 170 plate appearances and 43 games so far this year. Rookie Brendan Donovan gets the start in right field on Tuesday and will hit leadoff against Pirates right-hander JT Brubaker, making him a nice low-cost DFS option.
