The Miami Marlins placed starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with right elbow tendinitis and recalled left-hander Daniel Castano from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. The team also recalled pitcher Jimmy Yacabonis from Jacksonville, placed reliever Cole Sulser (lat) on the injured list and moved left-hander Jesus Luzardo to the 60-day IL. Cabrera allowed just one earned run while striking out 13 in 12 innings in his first two starts of the season, but he allowed five earned runs while walking three and striking out just two in 3 2/3 innings in his most recent start on June 12 against the Houston Astros. His elbow might’ve been bothering him in that start, though, and the 24-year-old should have a chance to return to Miami’s rotation in two weeks.
