Keep An Eye On Isiah Pacheco

The Kansas City Chiefs thought they solved their running back problem when they drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round. In short, that hasn’t worked.

Edwards-Helaire is the starter for the time being, but Kansas City has added competition in the form of Ronald Jones and Isiah Pacheco. Jerick McKinnon will also cut into his workload. Albert Breer has considered Pacheco, a rookie out of Rutgers, a “player to watch.” Head coach Andy Reid has a history with backs who outperform preseason expectations and is not afraid to put playmakers in positions to win.

Pacheco offers big play ability and a special teams presence, but more could be on the table. If those above him on the depth chart struggles, or Pacheco continues to impress in camp, he could see an increasing share of touches once the season begins.

DraftKings is offering +6500 odds on Pacheco to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, but there may be more valuable bets, even if you are a fan of the former Scarlet Knight. A more realistic option may be the under on Edwards-Helaire’s rushing yards prop, which DraftKings has set at 700.5 yards and -115 odds.
