Lamar Jackson Practicing Even Without Extension

The Baltimore Ravens have not met superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson’s number at the negotiating table.

Despite that, Jackson practiced with his teammates on Wednesday. Jackson is risking an injury that could hurt his negotiating leverage, but he’s opted to best prepare for the upcoming season.

Jackson will make a fully guaranteed $23 million dollars this year, the final one of his rookie deal. He’ll have a chance to double that rate once pen hits paper. It’s also possible contract talks stall to the point of a franchise tag this offseason.

Baltimore has built their offense and Super Bowl window around Jackson. With +160 odds to win the AFC North and +1000 to win the conference (per DraftKings), it’s clear Jackson is likely to play, even if an agreement is not made prior to Week 1.
