The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled shortstop Liover Peguero and placed Tucupita Marcano on the COVID injured list on Friday. Peguero is a well-regarded prospect for the Pirates, coming in as their No. 5 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline. The 21-year-old will report to the Pirates straight from Double-A Altoona, where he is hitting .292 with five homers, 28 runs, 33 RBI, and 14 steals across 226 at-bats. Dynasty gamers will want to take note of Peguero’s status in their leagues, although it might be a lot to expect much production from him with the Pirates at this stage considering he’s never played above Double-A.
