The Dallas Cowboys will be thin at wide receiver for Week 1.
Michael Gallup tore his ACL late last season, culminating in offseason surgery. He was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Wednesday.
Gallup, who signed five-year, $57.5 million contract with the Cowboys this offseason, will look to compete with CeeDee Lamb for the lion’s share of targets. However, he won’t be practicing much in the near future and has declared Week 1 to be too early to return. It’s not yet clear when he’ll see regular season action, but most expect him to only miss a minor portion of the schedule.
DraftKings currently has Dallas as a 10-win team, with -110 odds in either direction. A healthy Gallup makes that a much more manageable task, so they’ll be sure to prioritize him over short-term struggles in the passing game.
