Michael Kopech’s MRI Shows No Structural Damage

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (knee) received encouraging results from the MRI on his knee on Sunday. The MRI showed no structural damage. Kopech stated that there was some fluid buildup as well as some soreness. He also added that he thinks the injury feels worse than it actually is. Kopech suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers. He was only able to face two batters before leaving the game. It sounds like a stint on the injured list could be an option for Kopech, but we should know more soon. The 26-year-old has made 11 starts this year and he’s gone 2-2 with a 1.92 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a 25.2% strikeout rate.
