NFL Week 13

NFL Rapid Reaction Week 13: The AFC South is a complete mess

The AFC South has experienced more bad weeks than good this season, but Week 13 could be rock bottom for these four contestants.

The Titans need some receivers

When Treylon Burks left with a possible concussion in Philadelphia, you just knew that it was all over then. Unfortunately for them, a familiar face is one of the guys that really hurt them on Sunday, A.J. Brown. The Titans could really use a guy like that. Makes you wonder what it would take to trade for someone like that. Oh wait. Now the Brown situation has been told countless times and debated even more than that, so we aren’t going to waste your precious minutes in doing exactly that. However, one must wonder what happened to Derrick Henry, the impossible to tackle running back who has gone quiet in consecutive weeks. That, coupled with a brutal passing attack is doomsday for Mike Vrabel’s team. The worst part is that they just appear to be at a serious talent disadvantage against these top tier teams with no possible way to improve at this point. The championship window might not be closed entirely yet, but it would be crazy to think it’s open any more than a crack.

Jags stall out in the Motor City

Going into the weekend, it felt inevitable that the Jaguars were doomed for a letdown against Dan Campbell’s Lions. Before you could even sit down and settle in for a long day of football, Detroit raced out to a 14-3 lead and never looked back. While the loss is terrible no doubt, the best part of Sunday for this team easily came when Trevor Lawrence somehow made it back onto the field after an ugly injury. It didn’t look good in the moment and many surely felt like Lawrence would be done for the year. In what was a brutal day for Doug Pederson’s group, at least next season wasn’t lost thanks to a season ending injury to their prized quarterback. That’s got to count for something.

Saturday’s Colts suffer first Sunday embarrassment

So far, there have been a lot of good things happening with Jeff Saturday’s Colts. Sunday wasn’t one of those things. For the longest time, it felt like we would be writing about how tough this team was, finding a way to compete with the mighty Cowboys. Then the wheels came off. Big time. Matt Ryan looks like he made a mistake coming back for another year and if it wasn’t because you saw them on the field in blue jerseys, you would swear that the Colts defense didn’t even take the field. Now we see how they respond to the first real adversity they’ve faced under the Saturday regime.

The Texans.

Only five more weeks to go Texans’ fans. Stay strong.

Hello there, I’m Nick Brinkerhoff, a New Jersey native with enough sarcasm and attitude to show I’m not from New York. Despite being Jersey born and bred, I’m a diehard New York sports fan (Jets, Nets, Rangers, Mets) who has seen plenty of losing, but my sports betting ability will hopefully continue to balance those scales. I have season tickets to the Jets but believe it to be more character building than bad asset management. Althoug
