Seeing Double
NFL fans may know Devin McCourty as the twin brother to former NFL player Jason McCourty, but there is so much more beneath the surface. Sure, both of them attended Rutgers University and went on to have long and successful NFL careers, but if anything, they will be remembered for their charity work.
Devin, the elder brother by 27 minutes, may also be known for his iron man status, missing games in just three seasons, while sitting out more than one game only in two of them.
In 2013, McCourty pledged to donate to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, $100 for each tackle and $2oo for each interception that upcoming season. He recorded 69 tackles and one interception.
Outside of that, fans can follow along with the twin's charity work in the form of the Tackle Sickle Cell campaign, which, "aims to educate the public, increase blood donations, and raise money and awareness for the fight against sickle cell disease," according to their website.
