Big Brother Reigns Supreme
As you can imagine, the chances of three brothers making it to the NFL are slim to none. The chances of two being considered elite, well...a little less likely.
Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt and his brothers, T.J. and Derek, will go down as one of the greatest football families of all time, perhaps only second to the Mannings.
Watt, who put together a Canton-worthy career with the Houston Texans before departing for Arizona, had a head start in the race for the greatest Watt to ever play. However, T.J. Watt, an edge rusher for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has begun closing in. The little brother has led the league in sacks in 2020 and 2021, but has yet to truly separate himself as the league's best pass rusher.
Perhaps that is where the eldest Watt will keep his title. From 2012-2015 there was no better defender on the face of the planet. He was the undisputed best player at his position, something only Aaron Donald has done since. Until T.J. separates himself from the pack, Watt should have the bragging rights at Thanksgiving dinner.
