Deshaun Watson Optimistic He’ll Play This Year

Deshaun Watson

The endless drama between Deshaun Watson and the NFL feels like it will go on forever. The Cleveland Browns quarterback continues to find himself in a tough situation, one that can only be described as self-inflicted. Yet, despite the accusations, Watson is optimistic he’ll see the field in 2022.

Maybe on television. Regardless, many expect Watson to see the field in the same way fans will when the league officially kicks off the regular season in September. Much of the optimism from the embattled quarterback comes from his three-day hearing from June 27-30 and how it went in front of disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson.

It seems doubtful at the moment that Watson will be granted a chance to play this season, however. Although it’s also doubtful that the league will be granted the indefinite suspension of at least 17 games that they were seeking. However, no matter what discipline comes down from Robinson, both sides will have the chance to appeal and drag this saga on even further. As of right now, there is no indication as to whether a decision will be made before the Browns veterans report to training camp on July 27.
