Bradley Chubb’s career has resembled a bastardized version of the Cha Cha. His has been taking one step forward; one step back. According to that dance, Chubb is poised for a big step forward. And he needs one.
When the former N.C. State star burst on the scene as a rookie in 2018, posting 12 sacks and five tackles for loss in 16 games, he seemed poised for greatness. The following season was lost to an ACL injury. He bounced back in 2020, posting 7.5 sacks and five tackles for loss in 16 games. Last season was lost to an ankle injury that required arthroscopic surgery.
Since he did most of his rehab last season, Chubb feels ready to dance this season.
"It’s been huge, to be honest with you, just because I am not worried, 'Is this going to be OK?' You have the mindset that, ‘I am good and I am just going to attack every day like it's my last,' and that’s what I have been doing this offseason, and it’s been working out for me," Chubb told reporters.
The Broncos have done everything they can to put Chubb in a position to succeed. They lured Randy Gregory away from the Cowboys, giving Chubb his best complementary pass rusher since Von Miller.
It’s time for Chubb to dance his way back into one of the league’s elite pass rushers.
