Kyler Murray Keeps Coming Up Short
I'm not sure anyone has had to endure more short jokes than Kyler Murray.
Unfortunately for him, new material keeps rolling in. Murray is an avid fan of video games like Call of Duty. The problem? He's yet to win a playoff game.
Murray has made a habit of starting seasons strong, but falling short come playoff time. Just last year, Arizona started 7-0, only to finish 11-6 and get dismantled against the Los Angeles Rams in the wildcard round.
There's nothing wrong with having interests and passions outside of sports, but when your decline in production continues to correlate with the release date of popular first-person shooters, the door is open for critics to run wild. Apparently, this concerned the Cardinals enough to include an independent study clause in the star's contract extension, adding fire to the comedic flames. The social media disaster that followed forced Arizona to amend the contract, but the damage was done.
The Cardinals view their star quarterback like a concerned parent finding Cs on their child's report card. Maybe Murray can avoid coal in his stocking this holiday season.
