Flight Commander
The New York Jets selection of Zach Wilson in the 2021 NFL Draft was just meant to be. He's always had the Jets' #TakeFlight slogan in his blood as the nephew of JetBlue's founder. But Wilson wears many hats as the commander of the Jets, as well as in his own life.
The Utah native comes from a large family as the oldest of four brothers. If Wilson's grandparents would have to go through a cutdown day of their own in order to complete a football roster, with a combined 71 people between children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Just imagine all those holiday gifts.
So he is used to being around a lot of people and competing for every inch, working hard for everything he gets. While Wilson gets a lot of unnecessary social media flak for coming from a family that founded a major airline, you wouldn't know based on his DoorDash-ing ways in California. Yes, in order for Wilson to work with his quarterbacks coach he had to drive from the BYU campus to Southern California, paying for his stay out there by delivering food on nights and weekends. Did we also mention he's a master juggler too? If only he could cut down on the turnovers.
