There have been countless stories through the years of professional athletes reaching the top of their sport, who are children of those who have also been there before. The physically imposing Evan Mobley stands at seven feet tall, with a 7'4" wingspan, but don't let that fairly slim frame fool you. This guy's good. Real good.
Entering the league at age 20, Mobley came from USC, where he played alongside his brother Isaiah and was coached by his father Eric, an assistant coach at the college. His mother, Nichol, also played basketball at the high school level, illustrating just how deep the basketball roots are in this family. The brothers, Isaiah and Evan, have long been teammates, dating back to their old duels in the backyard at home. After Evan was drafted by the Cavaliers in 2021, the team drafted Isaiah in 2022, reuniting the California natives in Cleveland, their new home away from home.
Evan Mobley, the younger of the two, used those years of experience to catapult himself into a spot on the First Team All-Rookie in the 2021-22 season, announcing his arrival as one of the game's brightest young stars.
