Hit Like a Truck
Anthony Davis is well-known for his high-level play that landed him a championship at Kentucky, the first overall selection in his draft class, and a finals win in the Bubble.
Davis transcended to basketball's elite thanks to his gargantuan frame (6-foot-10, 253) and well-rounded skill set. He's a defensive anchor that's led the league in blocks three times. He has the finishing prowess to dominate centers in the paint. Perhaps most importantly, he has the ball handling, passing, and shooting skills of a point guard.
How the hell did that happen?
Davis may always have been great at basketball, but he wasn't always the physical freak that dominates the hardwood. As a sophomore in high school, Davis was a mere 6-foot-2. He avoided the "tallest player gets forced into center duties" pitfalls of youth basketball and was able to develop his skills as a point guard.
It's safe to say those skills didn't leave him when puberty turned him into a behemoth of a man ready to dominate the NBA.
