Frequent Flyer
If the NBA ever wanted to explore the idea of in-game frequent flyer miles that gave out bonuses or rewards to players that took flight most often, then Zach LaVine would be atop the list, or at least fairly close to that. He dazzled the Slam Dunk Contest on All Star Saturday in back-to-back years, in an effort to revive a contest often devoid of creativity and star power. Although there is plenty of debate around whether he should've won over challenger Aaron Gordon, there is no doubt that LaVine's high flying ability is great for the sport.
It's convenient that LaVine has a background in sign language which dates back to high school, considering his dunks get fans out of their seats with and without sound, a symbol of highlight reel level plays. While many fans across the league will most likely only identify LaVine for his dunks, it's important to note that this super athletic guard also has other levels to his game, making him an offensive threat anywhere on the court.
