Obi Toppin: The Second Dunker's Delight
Obi Toppin's dunks have brought the house down at New York Knicks games. They've won him a dunk contest and made him a fan favorite. He's apart of iconic highlights and plays with an energy few professionals possess.
Each dunk also connects him to his father.
Obadiah Toppin, also known as Dunker's Delight, was a streetball player in Toppin's hometown of Brooklyn, New York. He earned his nickname for making the impossible come to life on a basketball court: frequently deep in his bag of dunks.
Like his son, the elder Toppin had a knack for fanfare. Endearing to those fans becomes a lot easier when your home floor is Madison Square Garden and you're a product of the greatest city on Earth,
Toppin considers his father's legacy an honor to carry on as he permeates the NBA with a forgotten style of flare. His attitude, play, and family ties might as well make him the First Family of New York.
I'm not sure Dunker's Delight Jr. fits him though. I think Obi Toppin fits him, and his extraordinary dunks, just fine.
